Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, portrayed nude with an aegis draped over the left shoulder, rendered in the authoritative Imperial style characteristic of Alexandrian coinage. The portrait occupies the central field, with the emperor's strong facial profile and laurel wreath clearly delineated despite the worn surfaces. The surrounding legend, partially visible on the heavily circulated flan, reads ΑΥΤ ΤΡΑΙΑΝ ϹΕΒ ΓΕΡΜ ΔΑΚΙΚ, conferring upon Trajan his titles of Emperor, Augustus, Germanicus, and Dacicus. The flan is broad and irregular, typical of hand-struck provincial bronze issues from the Alexandrian mint.
