Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, draped and cuirassed, the paludamentum visible at the shoulder with the cuirass seen from the rear. The imperial effigy is rendered in the confident, slightly idealized portraiture style characteristic of Alexandrian provincial coinage of the Trajanic period. A Greek legend surrounds the bust, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The flan is broad but irregular, with the legend partially visible around the periphery.
