| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, seen from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the characteristic Alexandrian provincial style, with bold, somewhat schematic modelling. The obverse legend runs around the periphery in Greek characters, identifying the emperor by his full titulature including his Germanic and Dacian victory titles. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Year 16 of Trajan's reign in Egypt ran from August 112 to August 113 AD, placing this issue squarely within the period of his Parthian preparations. Alexandria's mint operated on the Alexandrian calendar year rather than the Roman consular system, which is why Egyptian bronzes carry regnal year designations absent from their western counterparts. The ΙϚ date marker is the primary tool for tightening attribution within Trajan's otherwise lengthy Egyptian output.
