Reverse description Livia (as Salus Augusta) seated right on a high-backed throne, her figure draped, raising her right hand in a gesture of salutation or blessing and holding a long sceptre in her left hand. The throne rests on a low platform or footstool. The legend IVLIA AVGVSTA flanks the seated figure, with the colonial abbreviation C · A · E · (Colonia Augusta Emerita) completing the circular inscription. The composition is framed by a beaded border and displays the characteristic flat, somewhat archaising style of Hispanian provincial bronzes of the Tiberian period.
