The effigy is rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style with a broad, slightly flat treatment of the facial features. A circular Greek legend surrounds the portrait, reading from upper left around the periphery of the flan. The coin exhibits the characteristically irregular, broad flan typical of Alexandrian bronze coinage of the Severan period. |

| Description du revers | Alexandria, the personification of the city, depicted standing facing with head turned to the left, wearing a turreted crown symbolic of her role as city goddess. She holds a long sceptre in her left hand and raises her right hand in a gesture of salutation or benediction. A tall palm branch appears in the field before her, a recurring emblem of victory and civic pride on Alexandrian coinage. The regnal date L Ι (Year 10) appears in the field, corresponding to the tenth year of Severus Alexander's reign. |
