Additional information

Hadriani ad Olympum was a Mysian city whose very name advertised its imperial loyalty — founded or refounded under Hadrian, likely as part of his extensive Anatolian building program of the 120s AD. The reverse inscription ΠΡΟϹ ΟΛΥΜΠΟΝ distinguishes it from the several other Hadrianic foundations in the region, situating it geographically toward Mount Olympus of Bithynia. Provincial bronze of this size and weight from the Adramyteum conventus juridicus rarely surfaces outside Turkish institutional collections.
