| Obverse description | Laureate head of Marcus Aurelius facing right, with a long beard rendered in short curls characteristic of his mature portrait type, and traces of drapery visible at the shoulder. The emperor's effigy is depicted in the conventional provincial Greek style, with the laurel wreath encircling the head as a mark of imperial dignity. The legend is disposed around the periphery of the flan. |
