| Reverse description | Homonoia type featuring two facing cult statues in high relief. To the left stands the famous cult image of Artemis of Ephesus (Artemis Ephesia), depicted frontally, wearing the kalathos (cylindrical crown), her body adorned with multiple rows of ova and flanked by two stags at her sides, with characteristic supports beneath her arms. To the right stands the cult statue of Kore (Persephone) of Sardis, also facing, crowned with a tall polos surmounted by a crescent. The bilingual civic homonoia legend ΕΦΕϹΙΩΝ ΚΑΙ ϹΑΡΔΙΑΝΩΝ ΟΜΟΝΟΙΑ encircles the field, celebrating the concordia between the cities of Ephesus and Sardis. |
