Obverse description Laureate, cuirassed and paludamentum-draped bust of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, with medium-length beard, facing right and seen from the rear. The effigy presents the emperor in full military dress, combining the cuirass with the general's cloak (paludamentum) fastened at the shoulder. The surrounding legend reads ΑΥ ΚΑΙ ΜΑΡ ΑΥΡΗ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙ ΑΥΓ in Greek characters within the field.
