| Beschrijving keerzijde | A classical temple with two columns frames the standing figure of Sarapis, depicted facing right, wearing a modius on his head, holding a long sceptre and raising his right arm in a gesture of benediction. To the right of the temple, Emperor Hadrian stands facing left, laureate and clad in the toga, holding a sceptre and extending his hand over a small altar positioned between the two figures. The altar bears the dedicatory inscription ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟΝ, commemorating Hadrian's association with the Serapeum cult at Alexandria. The regnal date L ΙΖ (Year 17) appears in the field, dating the issue to the Alexandrian year 132–133 CE. |
