| Obverse description | Draped bust of Antinous facing right, surmounted by the hemhem crown — a composite Egyptian triple-atef crown flanked by ram's horns and uraeus serpents — signifying his deification. The portrait captures the youthful, idealised features characteristic of Antinous's posthumous iconography. The circumferential Greek legend reads ΑΝΤΙΝΟΟΥ ΗΡΩΟϹ, identifying the subject as the hero Antinous. The flan is broad and irregular, with moderate wear and an olive-brown patina consistent with Alexandrian bronze coinage of the Hadrianic period. |
