| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered as seen from the rear, displaying the elaborate folds of the imperial paludamentum over the cuirass. The effigy is executed in the Alexandrian provincial style, with characteristically bold and high relief. The Greek legend is arranged along the right field, identifying the emperor by his full imperial titulature. |

| Reverse description | Zeus, nude and reclining to the left, recumbent upon the back of a large eagle which itself stands upon a thunderbolt; the god holds a patera in his extended right hand and grasps a long sceptre in his left. The composition fills the field dynamically, with the eagle's wings spread prominently beneath the figure. The regnal year legend appears in the lower right field, a characteristic feature of Alexandrian coinage used to date the issue. |
