| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, seen from the rear, with paludamentum visible over the shoulder. The effigy displays characteristic Hadrianic portraiture with a full beard and laurel wreath. The obverse legend in Greek characters runs along the periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor by his full imperial titulature. The portrait style is consistent with the Alexandrian mint's distinctive provincial rendering of the imperial image during the reign of Hadrian. |
