| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, seen from the rear, rendered in the provincial Egyptian style typical of Alexandrian coinage. The portrait displays the characteristic short beard and laureate wreath associated with Hadrian's later coinage. The circumferential Greek legend runs around the bust within the coin's field. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, consistent with Alexandrian bronze production of the period. |
