The legend is disposed in two groups around the bust, reading ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ ΤΡΑΙ to the right and ΑΔΡΙΑ ϹΕΒ to the left, abbreviating the full imperial titulature Αὐτοκράτωρ Καῖσαρ Τραϊανὸς Ἁδριανὸς Σεβαστός. The flan is broad and irregular, characteristic of Alexandrian bronze issues of this period. Surface shows a dark brown patina with areas of green encrustation consistent with extended burial. |
