| Obverse description | Bare-shouldered, laureate bust of the emperor Hadrian facing right, unbearded, with drapery visible on the left shoulder. The portrait displays the characteristic close-cropped Hadrianic curls rendered in the Alexandrian provincial style. A Greek legend encircles the effigy along the border, with a dotted inner border visible. The portrait type is consistent with the earliest coinage of Hadrian's reign, prior to the adoption of his beard. |

| Reverse description | The emperor Hadrian, laureate and wearing a toga, stands erect in a quadriga advancing to the right, holding an eagle-tipped sceptre in one hand and a branch in the other. The four horses are depicted in motion, conveying a triumphal processional scene characteristic of Alexandrian imperial bronzes. The regnal date appears in the field, marking this issue to the second year of Hadrian's reign in the Egyptian calendar. |
