| 正面铭文 | ΑΥΤ(Ο) Κ Μ ΑΝ(Τ) ΓΟΡΔΙΑΝΟϹ (Translation: Emperor Caesar Marcus Antonius Gordian) |
| 背面描述 | Two deities stand facing one another in the field: Asclepius at left, depicted frontally, resting upon his serpent-entwined staff (kerykeion), the symbol of medicine and healing; and Demeter at right, also standing frontally, holding a poppy head and a torch, attributes of her chthonic and fertility aspects. At the feet of Demeter, a ship's prow (emblematic of Nicomedia's maritime identity) is visible in the lower field. The reverse legend, distributed around the periphery, records the joint civic coinage issued under the strategos Julius Logismus on behalf of the allied cities of Pergamum and Nicomedia. |
