| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, depicted from behind, revealing the elaborate folds of the paludamentum and the articulated musculature of the cuirass. The emperor's youthful effigy is rendered with typical provincial workshop style of the mid-third century. A beaded border frames the design. The Greek imperial titulature legend runs around the periphery of the flan. |
