| Beschrijving keerzijde | Hygieia, goddess of health, standing to the right, extending a patera from which she feeds a serpent coiling upward before her; facing her stands Asclepius, god of medicine, depicted to the left, leaning on a serpent-entwined staff (caduceus). The two divine figures are rendered in the standard provincial iconographic tradition. The encircling Greek legend names the magistrate responsible for the issue and the civic authority of Hadrianeia. The composition is typical of Mysian civic bronzes invoking healing deities under the Gordian dynasty. |
