| Obverse description | Draped bust of Empress Tranquillina facing right, her hair elaborately dressed and bound with a diadem, rendered in the provincial workshop style characteristic of Mysian civic coinage under Gordian III. The effigy is portrayed in high relief with finely modelled drapery visible at the truncation. The encircling Greek legend ΦΟΥΡ ϹΑΒ ΤΡΑΝΚΥΛΕΙΝΑ identifies the empress, running around the periphery of the flan. |
