The reverse legend ΝΙΚοΜΗΔΕΩΝ ΔΙϹ ΝΕΩΚοΡΩΝ encircles the composition, proudly proclaiming the city's dual neokorate honour. The galley type alludes to Nicomedia's maritime importance on the Propontis. |
