| Reverse description | Cybele, the Phrygian mother goddess, is enthroned and seated to the left, wearing a turreted crown (polos) and rendered in a hieratic, frontal pose. She extends her right hand holding a patera for libation, while her left arm rests upon a tympanum (ritual drum). A lion, her sacred animal and attribute, crouches at her feet to the left. The reverse legend, distributed around the field within a beaded border, names the local archon responsible for the coin's issue. |
