| Reverse description | Zeus, whose head may be assimilated to the portrait of Marcus Aurelius as Caesar, seated upon a throne facing left, holding a Nike in his extended right hand and a long sceptre in his left. The figure is rendered in the Hellenistic civic tradition typical of Mysian provincial bronzes. The reverse legend, naming the high-priest Philographos and the neokorate status of Cyzicus, fills the field around the enthroned deity. A beaded border frames the design. |
