Reverse description A distyle temple façade with two columns framing the enthroned figure of Sarapis, seated left upon a high-backed throne, holding a long sceptre in his left hand. The syncretic deity is depicted with his characteristic modius or kalathos crown atop his head. At his feet crouches Cerberus, the three-headed guardian of the underworld, rendered as a small canine figure. The date regnal legend L Ζ (Year 7) appears in the field, confirming the issue to the seventh year of Antoninus Pius's reign.
