| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style with a bearded portrait of characteristic solidity. The emperor's effigy displays traces of drapery over the left shoulder, consistent with the cuirassed or paludamented presentation common to Alexandrian coinage of this reign. The encircling Greek legend runs along the periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The portrait is struck on an irregularly shaped flan with a green and brown patina typical of Alexandrian bronze issues. |
