| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, clad in the paludamentum (military cloak), with the imperial effigy rendered in the Alexandrian provincial style. The encircling Greek legend occupies the outer field, partially obscured by heavy patination and surface wear. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, characteristic of Alexandrian drachm-sized bronzes of the mid-second century. The portrait, though worn, retains the characteristic broad facial features associated with Antoninus Pius in provincial coinage of Egypt. |
