Reverse description Antoninus Pius standing in a quadriga advancing to the right, the emperor depicted laureate and wearing a toga, holding a sceptre in one hand and raising the other in a gesture of address or salutation. The four-horse chariot composition is a well-attested reverse type for Alexandrian drachms and large bronzes of the imperial period, evoking the triumphal imagery of the Roman adventus. The regnal year date L Κ (year 20) appears in the field. The strike is somewhat weak, with details partially obscured by patination and surface corrosion.
