| Reverse description | A monumental garlanded altar or tetrastyle to hexastyle flat-roofed temple structure with six columns is depicted in elevation, with barriers or railings between the columns and an uncertain standing figure positioned at each end of the base. Above the structure rises a funerary pyre, and the upper corners are adorned with acroteria in the form of aphlasta (naval ornaments). The composition is characteristic of Alexandrian provincial coinage commemorating imperial cult structures, rendered with considerable architectural detail. The regnal year legend appears in the field. |
