| Obverse description | Draped bust of Faustina II facing right, with hair elaborately styled and drawn back, depicted in the Antonine court portrait tradition. The effigy is rendered in moderate relief on a broad flan typical of Alexandrian bronze coinage. The encircling Greek legend reads ΦΑΥϹΤΙΝΑ ϹΕΒ ϹΕΒ ΕΥϹ ΘΥΓ, identifying her as Augusta and daughter of the pious Augustus. The flan exhibits the characteristic irregular shape common to mid-second century Alexandrian issues. |
