A cornucopia appears at the shoulder, symbolising abundance, while behind the bust a trident with a serpent entwined around its shaft alludes to his dominion over the sea and underworld. The date regnal legend L Ε (Year 5) is placed in the field. The reverse design reflects the rich syncretic religious iconography characteristic of Alexandrian coinage under the Antonine dynasty. |
