Year five of Antoninus Pius's reign — rendered here as L Ε in the Alexandrian regnal dating system — fell during a period of relative administrative calm in Egypt, though the province had barely recovered from the catastrophic Jewish revolt of 115–117 AD, which left Alexandria's Jewish quarter effectively destroyed.
