Obverse description Bare head of Antoninus Pius facing left, with the aegis visible at the shoulder, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style characteristic of early Antonine coinage. The portrait displays the emperor's characteristic features with short curling hair and a full beard, executed in moderately high relief. A Greek imperial legend encircles the effigy, reading from upper left around the field. The coin's flan is slightly irregular, typical of Alexandrian bronze issues of this period.
