| Obverse description | Bare-shouldered, laureate bust of Emperor Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the typical Alexandrian provincial style with bold, slightly rough relief. The imperial effigy is depicted with characteristic aged features and a laurel wreath crown. A Greek legend encircles the bust, reading from upper left around the periphery of the flan. The flan itself is broad and irregularly shaped, as is typical of large Alexandrian bronze issues of the Antonine period. |
