Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, draped and wearing an aegis on the left shoulder, rendered in the Alexandrian provincial style with finely detailed curly hair and short beard. The portrait is robust and naturalistic, occupying the full field of the flan. A Greek imperial legend encircles the effigy, reading from upper left around the periphery. The coin exhibits characteristic Alexandrian fabric with a broad, slightly irregular flan and deep relief portraiture.
