Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, wearing an aegis on the left shoulder, with finely rendered curled hair and beard in the Antonine style. The portrait is executed in high relief with strong naturalistic modelling of the facial features. A partially visible legend runs along the upper and outer rim of the flan. The overall style is consistent with Alexandrian provincial coinage of the early Antonine period.
