| Reverse description | A kalathos (grain basket), symbolising the fertility and abundance of Egypt, is depicted mounted upon a biga drawn by two winged serpents advancing to the right. The serpents are rendered with coiling bodies and outstretched wings, a distinctly Alexandrian religious motif evoking the sacred serpents of Egyptian cult. The date regnal legend appears in the upper field. The overall composition reflects the syncretic Greco-Egyptian religious iconography characteristic of Alexandrian civic coinage under the Roman emperors. |
