| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style with bold, somewhat coarse relief. The laureate wreath is rendered with individual leaves clearly delineated, and the drapery falls over the left shoulder. A Greek imperial legend surrounds the effigy within a dotted border. The portrait conveys the emperor's characteristic strong features, consistent with Trajanic iconography on Alexandrian coinage of the period. |
