Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, depicted nude with an aegis draped over the left shoulder, rendered in the Alexandrian provincial style characteristic of the early second century. The laureate wreath is rendered with fine detail, and the imperial effigy displays strong, idealised facial features typical of Trajanic portraiture. The obverse legend is distributed around the bust in Greek script, identifying the emperor with his full titulature. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, consistent with hammered provincial coinage of the period.
