| Reverse description | Emperor Trajan standing in a quadriga drawn by four elephants, proceeding to the right, depicted laureate and wearing a toga. He holds an eagle-tipped sceptre in one hand and a branch in the other, emblematic of imperial triumph and victory. The elephant quadriga, a prestigious motif associated with deified or triumphant rulers, fills the reverse field. The regnal date legend appears in the field, recording Egyptian Year 15 of Trajan's reign. The type commemorates Trajan's Dacian victories and reflects the Alexandrian mint's adoption of Roman imperial iconography. |
