| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, depicted nude with an aegis draped over the left shoulder, rendered in the vigorous portraiture style characteristic of Alexandrian provincial coinage. The laureate wreath is rendered in detail with individual leaves visible across the crown. The Greek imperial legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The flan is broad but irregular, typical of Alexandrian Æ issues of the Trajanic period. |
