| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, bare-shouldered with an aegis draped over the left shoulder, rendered in the vigorous provincial style characteristic of the Alexandrian mint. The imperial effigy displays carefully detailed hair beneath the laurel wreath. The Greek legend encircles the bust, identifying the emperor by his principal titles. The flan is irregular in shape, as typical of Alexandrian bronze coinage of this period. |
