| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of the emperor Severus Alexander facing right, depicted from behind, showing the rear of the cuirass with paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Pontic civic coinage, with the laurel wreath clearly delineated atop the imperial portrait. The circumferential Greek legend reads ΑΥ ΚΑΙ Μ ΑΥ ϹΕΥ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature. |
