| Obverse description | Radiate bust of Septimius Severus facing right, depicted with characteristic beard and wearing a radiate crown, the rays rendered prominently above the head. The bust appears draped and cuirassed, with the emperor's effigy presented in the conventional provincial portrait style of the Severan period. The obverse legend is disposed around the periphery in Greek characters, identifying the emperor by his full imperial titulature. The flan is somewhat irregular, and the surface shows patination consistent with a circulated provincial bronze. |
