| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus facing right, seen from the rear, rendered in typical provincial style. The emperor's portrait is presented with military emphasis, combining the draped paludamentum and cuirass. A Greek imperial titulature legend runs around the periphery of the flan. The die work reflects the regional engraving tradition of the Phrygian mint of Eumenea under the Conventus of Apamea. |
