| Reverse description | Zeus Lydios, depicted as a mature bearded deity draped in a himation, stands facing left in a dignified frontal stance. In his extended right hand he holds a patera, and in his left a long vertical sceptre. At his feet to the left crouches an eagle, a standard attribute of Zeus in Lydian civic coinage. The encircling Greek legend records the name of the local magistrate Ti. Kl. Hieronymos and the ethnic of the Hermocapeleitans, reflecting the standard formula of provincial civic bronze coinage of the Severan period. |
