Reverse description Homonoia type depicting two standing female figures in confronted arrangement. At right, Demeter of Erythrae stands facing left, holding ears of corn and a long torch; at left, Tyche of Chios stands facing right, holding a cantharus and a sceptre. The scene celebrates the civic concord (homonoia) between the cities of Erythrae and Chios under the strategos Capitolinus, a subject common to alliance coinage of the Ionian conventus. The Greek legend encircles the field in multiple lines, naming both cities and the presiding magistrate.
