Behind her, on a raised base, stands Hermes facing left, holding a purse in one hand and an uncertain object in the other, his presence reinforcing the theme of commerce and monetary exchange. The composition is a rare and iconographically rich pairing, found on Alexandrian tetradrachm-sized bronzes of Year 3. The reverse legend appears in the field, incorporating the regnal year indicator. |
