Obverse description Draped bust of Faustina II facing right, rendered in the Alexandrian provincial style with characteristic broad flan and high relief. The empress is depicted with her hair elaborately arranged in the fashionable coiffure of the Antonine period, swept back from the forehead. The Greek legend ΦΑΥϹΤΙΝΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ encircles the bust, identifying her as Augusta. The flan is irregular and shows typical characteristics of Alexandrian bronze coinage, with the portrait occupying the central field.
