Obverse description Bare-headed, cuirassed bust of Lucius Verus facing right, with paludamentum draped over the left shoulder, the bust presented from a frontal perspective. The emperor's features are rendered in the imperial portrait style of the Antonine period. The obverse legend in Greek characters runs around the periphery, identifying the ruler as Lucius Aurelius Verus Augustus.

Reverse description Reverse field depicts two allegorical figures flanking the central space. To the left, Euthenia stands facing right, a corn-stalk resting over her shoulder, and raises a wreath in her extended hand, symbolising abundance and prosperity. To the right, the river god Nilus is seated left upon a rocky outcrop, holding a cornucopia in one arm and a reed in the other, while a crocodile climbs the rocks at his side — a quintessential Alexandrian iconographic motif evoking the fertile inundation of the Nile. The date regnal year 3 appears in the field as the Greek numeral Γ preceded by the year-marker L.
