Reverse description Artemis, the divine huntress, depicted standing in a biga drawn by two galloping stags moving to the right. The goddess is shown in dynamic pose, her right arm reaching back to draw an arrow from the quiver at her shoulder while her left hand holds the bow, conveying vigorous forward motion. The composition is characteristic of the elaborate mythological reverse types favored by the civic coinage of Mytilene on Lesbos. The reverse legend names the local strategos Pompeius Tryphonianus as magistrate responsible for the issue, along with the ethnic ΜΥΤΙΛ identifying the mint city.
